Project Healthy Smile, KOKOON, Local Motion, SBG DesignsM.Bridget Designs have come together to create a fabulous fashion event for a wonderful cause during MN Spring Fashion Week.

Styles For Smiles Spring 2011 will feature a Runway Show showcasing colorful spring couture by KOKOON & Local Motion Boutique, Wine, Hors d’oeuvres, an Interactive Photo Booth with photography by Serah Sauser, music by DJ Fatty and Mini-Makeovers from Brett Dorrian Artistry Studios – all for FREE.

It will also be a rare private shopping experience as KOKOON Design Studio becomes a modern pop up boutique. Guests can view fresh spring looks on the lovely Ignite models and purchase them right then and there, along with the perfect jewelry pieces from local designers SBG Designs & M.Bridget Designs.

And go home with a goodie-stocked gift bag. Much more fun than shopping at a mall, and all for a great cause: A portion of the proceeds from the clothing and jewelry sales will directly benefit Project Healthy Smile, a Minneapolis based non-profit working to bring oral health education and dental supplies to impoverished and underprivileged children globally.

There will also be a raffle and silent auction to raise money for Project Healthy Smile.

Doors open at 1pm

PHS had a successful mission in Haiti! We provided oral health education and dental supplies to a crèche in Lamardelle and Kenskoff. We look forward to continuing to work together to make sure the children stay compliant with oral health. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our new Haitian friends for  their generous hospitality and an unforgettable experience.

Donate to Project Healthy Smile on Give to the Max Day!

Tuesday, November 16th is Give to the Max Day, the nation’s largest giving day, and we’re looking to you to help us reach our goal! This year, our goal is $5,000; we know we can do it with your generosity. So, on Tuesday, November 16th, head over to and let’s “Give to the Max”!
PHS will be providing oral health education and dental supplies to Haitian orphanages this holiday season. We will be working with orphaned children in two creches in remote rural villages called Lamardelle and Obleon (Kenscoff). You can be a part of our mission to Save Smiles in Haiti and help us continue our mission to Save Smiles Worldwide with your generous donation.

Our newest PHS member, Punita Fielding, will be speaking at the Northern Virginia Dental Hygienists’ Association meeting Monday October 25th in Fairfax, VA. You can earn 2 CE credits!

Course Description: In the summer of 2010 a team of 9 health care professionals from Northern Virginia Community College visited Ghana, Africa on a Global Community Outreach Project. The Ghana team had to participate in an International Studies Class that culminated in a 2 week trip in Ghana. This presentation will explain how this project took place, what was required to participate, what the team learned from this project, what dental services were delivered in Ghana by the dental team and what the experience was like for the team.
