Our Mission:
Project Healthy smile will provide oral health education and dental supplies to underprivileged children globally.
Our Program:
Co-founders and executive directors Michelle Patterson and Hollie Mae Schultz will initially travel to orphanages and children’s organizations in SE Asia. Michelle (a licensed Dental Hygienist) will provide children with oral health education. Education will include the importance of oral health, diet, and brushing/flossing methods. PHS will use educational models, visuals and activities to keep children engaged in learning.  Caregivers will be educated and trained to sustain our program.
We will also provide dental supplies (toothbrushes, tooth paste and floss) for children to stay compliant with oral health. We will continue to provide dental supplies every 3-6 months. We plan to re-visit 1-2 times a year to make sure oral health education continues and supplies are being used appropriately. Once funding allows, we will train in country ambassadors to carry out our program so that we can continue serving children in need. We also plan on providing a PHS training video online for volunteers who are interested in implementing our program in areas we have not reached.
PHS is looking forward to saving many smiles worldwide!
